Child Privacy

This notice is for parents. It sits next to the Privacy Policy because Prodigy holds information about a child under 13, even though the child never logs in.

1. This is not a children's app

Prodigy is directed at adults. The account holder must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian. We do not design the product for a child to tap. Under 18 months, the lesson is you doing the move, not a video playing to the baby (AAP 2026). We will not put Prodigy in the App Store Kids Category, and we will not describe it as "for kids" in store metadata.

2. What we collect about a child

Only from the parent (or a caregiver the parent invited):

• First name
• Birth date (to place the child on the 0–36 month map)
• Notes and traits you type
• Milestone marks and activity ratings
• Optional short video of the child, on the Prodigy plan, for an educational observation. A video of a child's face is personal information under COPPA, including the 2026 biometric updates. We collect it only if you upload it.

We do not collect a child's email, a child login, precise location, or contacts. We do not serve ads to children. We do not sell child data.

3. Verifiable parental consent

We treat the parent account as consent to hold the child profile when:

• You create the account with an email you control, as an adult.
• You enter the child yourself during onboarding.
• You check that you are the parent or guardian on the safety acknowledgment.
• For video: you upload the clip after that acknowledgment. We will not run vision without it.

If we learn an account is operated by a child, we will delete it. Email mike@hodgen.ai.

4. Who sees child data

• You, on the logged-in account.
• Caregivers you invite. You can revoke them in Settings.
• xAI Grok, when we rewrite a parent script. The prompt may include first name, age in months, traits, and a note you wrote. Not the video.
• Google Gemini, only if you upload a video on the Prodigy plan.
• Supabase, Vercel, and Resend as infrastructure, under the Privacy Policy processor list.

PostHog analytics does not receive child name, birth date, notes, or video.

5. Your controls

• Edit the profile in Settings at any time.
• Export a JSON snapshot in Settings → Your Data.
• Delete the whole account in Settings → Your Data (type DELETE). That removes child profiles, logs, and stored video.
• Email mike@hodgen.ai if you cannot reach Settings. We will verify you are the parent on the account before we delete.

6. Retention

Child data lasts for the life of the parent account, then is purged on deletion. Backups may remain up to 90 days. Video lives in a private bucket and is removed with the account.
